Mr. Pretorius endows the company with his varied business expertise and professionalism within the Financial Services Sector. He has a qualification in Wealth Management and has more than 30 years of experience in the Financial Services Sector. During the period 1998 to 2003, Mr. Pretorius was a partner in two brokerages, where he was the Managing member. In 2003 he established Praeto Trading cc and has spearheaded the growth of the company, resulting in it becoming a fore runner in the entry level market.  During 2007, Mrs. Keshnee Pretorius was co-opted into the business from the retail sector where she had spent six years as an assistant store manager for Exclusive Books. Her managerial experience was pivotal in this decision, as the company was at the cusp of expanding its staff compliment.

Over the period 2006 to date, the company has been recognized by companies such as AVBOB, Channel Life, Liberty Life, Old Mutual and Sanlam Sky for the significant effort that has resulted in the company becoming one of the largest suppliers of new business in the emerging market divisions of the different companies within the KZN region.

The company is accredited with the Financial Services Board as well as the Council for Medical Schemes. The company adheres to strict guidelines relating to compliance with the various regulatory bodies, and as such, ensures that all staff meets the required minimum criteria as set by the relevant regulatory bodies from time to time. The company works closely with the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA), where we host learners and interns on their behalf.

Traditional financial solutions and applications can often be outdated and not relevant for the individual client. To avoid “boxing” our clients, we understand that each person is an individual who has specific needs relating to their current situation. We also accept that each client will evolve over the life-span of our relationship, and for that reason, their financial solutions should evolve as well. A personal Needs Analyses done at specific regular intervals with our clients ensures that they have the appropriate advice given to them when needed. We believe that clients have a right to be properly informed about all the important and relevant fundamentals of their financial portfolios. With correct information, plus intelligent risk and cost management, individuals and companies can make substantial savings on their insurance portfolios. To this end, we assist clients with a service known as an Individual / Corporate Financial Needs Analysis. This enables them to gain a full understanding of their current insurance and investment portfolios in order to make the necessary changes to match current needs and future goals.

Praeto Financial Services believes that regular interaction with our clients ensures that we are constantly updated with any new developments that may occur in the lives of our clients. We believe that as our clients’ needs change; we need to ensure that their Financial Services Portfolio changes to meet their current position. We therefore recommend that we interact with our clients as regularly as possible and make ourselves available to our clients on a quarterly basis. Where our clients require us to meet with them due to changes that have a significant change in their life circumstances, we recommend that these interactions be done prior to the event, or as soon after the event as possible, to ensure that there is no significant negative impact on the clients portfolio.

We are a fee based company, and as such will always negotiate the most appropriate fee for the services that we render. Wherever possible, fees will be waived in lieu of commissions paid by the underwriting companies that we have partnered with.

Our Expertise

Praeto Financial Services and its advisors are all accredited and licensed to market financial products under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act. In order to keep abreast of the latest developments in the financial services industry, the advisors are expected to obtain Industry Related qualifications within a three-year period. As a company, we have over 4500 individual clients. Our intermediaries are well versed within the categories and sub-categories that the company is accredited and licensed to render services within the industry.
